According to a report by Punch,
the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday, stormed Zenith
Bank in Ado Ekiti to withdraw money from his bank account earlier frozen
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday,
ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately unfreeze the account of the Ekiti State Governor.
While delivering judgment in a suit filed by Gov. Fayose through
his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), Justice Taiwo Taiwo, said the action of
EFCC was against due process, adding that the anti-graft agency did not
follow the laid down regulations in freezing the accounts.
The governor's latest action followed the above judgment of the Federal High Court.
