PDP official disrupts INEC result announcement, says Jega is partial and has been compromised

The PDP party agent at the Collation center in Abuja, Elder Godswill Orubebe is currently staging a protest at the INEC result collation center alleging that Prof Jega has been compromised. According to him, Professor Jega has been selective, partial and is tribalistic. He said APC had written a letter to INEC concerning an alleged rigging in Rivers state which he immediately sent a committee to investigate the issue but that when PDP wrote protest letters on the elections in Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa, Jega did not send anyone to attend to their protest.
Orubebe, who is a former Minister of Niger Delta, is now calling for Jega to stop result collation. He sat on stage and refused to allow the result announcement to continue...

Presidential election results so far! PDP in early lead...

INEC has announced results for 8 states and the FCT, Abuja - (total 9) and so far PDP is leading with 2,322,734 votes while APC has 2,302,978 votes, though APC won five states and PDP four states.
The commission has reconvened till 8pm tonight to allow sufficient time for other states to bring in their results. We are still expecting results for 27 states. We will continue by 8pm. Stay tuned!

Gen. Buhari wins in Ogun state As Jonathan Floors Buhari In Ekiti State

APC Presidential candidate, Gen Buhari has been announced the winner of the Presidential election in Ogun state. The state Collating Officer, Duro Oni, while announcing the results at the commission's secretariat in Ogun state this night said of the total 559,613 votes cast, Gen Buhari pulled 308,290 to defeat President Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who pulled 207,950.
She stated that the APC won in 13 local governments while PDP won in 7.

INEC postpones election in 7 federal constituencies


The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in Jigawa state has announced the postponement of election in seven out of eleven federal constituencies. According to the resident electoral commissioner in the state, Alhaji Halliru Aliyu Tambawel, the postponement was as a result of lack of sensitive materials including ballot papers and results sheets from the Central Bank of Nigeria to be used for the elections.

Election results will be announced 48 hours after election - Jega

INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega says that results from tomorrow's general election will be announced 48 hours after the elections have been concluded. So expect results on Monday March 30. He said this during a joint press briefing with the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Johnson Olawumi in Abuja today March 27th.

INEC electoral institute gutted by fire, commission says no sensitive material was destroyed

he Independent National Electoral Commission’s Electoral Institute in Abuja was gutted by fire around 11pm on Saturday March 13th. While conducting pressmen around the burnt warehouse, the INEC Director of Security, Mr. Shettima Ngilladar, said only non sensitive materials used in the 2011 election as well as bags, envelopes, election forms and electrical control panel/ switch were destroyed during the fire incident which burned intoSunday 2am.
No material to be used for the 2015 election was destroyed. The fire outbreak was attributed to power surge...

INEC extends PVC collection date to March 8th

Following the postponement of the general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has extended the date of collection of Permanent Voters Card to March 8th. In a statement signed by the commission's secretary, Mrs Augusta Ogakwu and released today February 9th, the commission said it hopes the extension would enable people who haven't collected their PVC to do so
“The Commission hopes that this extension will finally avail every registered person yet to collect his/her PVC the opportunity to do so in readiness for the general elections,” the statement read in part.
