A Boko Haram suicide bomber has been shot dead by troops of the Nigerian Army as he tried to detonate a bomb at the outskirts of Maiduguri. This was revealed in a statement by Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman.

Chaos in Lagos as Police, Prison Officials Watch Notorious Prisoner Escape in Broad Daylight


A shocking incident has happened in Lagos as a notorious prisoner escaped from police escort in broad daylight.

It was like another movie scene at 2nd Rainbow along Mile 2 road when a prisoner staged a one-man escape. 
 
According to an authoritative witness who spoke to Tori news correspondent, a prison vehicle which the prisoners were being transported broke down on the road as a result of a flat tire. The prison officials along with the police officers requested another vehicle to transfer the prisoners so as to continue the journey.

Amazing story of how a mother re-united with the son she left behind in Boko Haram camp

Margaret, a mother of 5 (pictured above) was abducted with two of her children, a son Jacob and daughter Halima from her village in Damboa Borno state late last year. She was taken to a Boko Haram camp where she met another abductee, Hauwa. Worried and unsettled about the safety and well being of her other children aged six, eight and ten she left behind when she was abducted, Margaret took the risk and fled the sect members camp with her daughter, handing over her son to Hauwa who she begged to look after him for her.

Army spokesman says 200 girls rescued yesterday are not Chibok girls?

The army tweeted that they can't confirm if Chibok girls were among the 200 girls they rescued from Sambisa forest yesterday, that they will know after they screen and profile the rescued girls. But now Reuters, AP and Al-Jazeera are reporting that an Army Spokesperson has confirmed Chibok girls are not among the 293 girls and women rescued yesterday.

2 soldiers confirmed dead as unserviceable ammunitions explode in Plateau earlier yesterday

Two soldiers have been confirmed dead while one was seriously injured after some unservisable ammunition went off while being destroyed near the 3rd Armoured Division barracks at Bassa Local Government Area yesterday April 25th.
Speaking on the incident, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman said the unservicable ammunition were being destroyed near a bush when they went off. He debunked claims that the explosion was caused by members of the insurgency group, Boko Haram.

FOR REAL!!! Boko Haram runs out of arms and ammunition, now using bow and arrow..lol

Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade says Boko Haram members have resorted to using bows and arrows to carry out their attacks after running out of arms & ammunition. Olukolade said this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja today April 23rd.
"The Boko Haram terrorists have run out of arms and ammunition because the usual supplies they get are not forthcoming. They now have only bow and arrows, machetes, daggers and other local weapons.

As far as I am concerned, they are aiding these attacks on other blacks. Worst still, their government hasn't responded yet. Such a shame! Nothing has made me so mad in a long time. If like me, you saw that video of children tied up, beaten and gasoline poured on them, you would be mad too.

Bolivian football team cancels friendly match with Nigeria over fear of Boko Haram

The Bolivian football team has called off its international friendly match with Nigeria which was due to take place at the new Akwa Ibom International stadium in Uyo on March 26th.
At a press conference in Santa Cruz today, the president of the Bolivian Football Federation, Carlos Chavez said armed conflicts in Nigeria as well as political tension forced them to cancel the match "The armed conflict in Nigeria and the tense political situation forced the cancellation of the game" Chavez said

3,700 homes destroyed in Baga as Amnesty Int'l release satellite images from attack

Amnesty International has released satellite images from the January 2nd and 7th Boko Haram attack in Baga Borno state. Early reports put the death toll from the attack at 2000 but that has been disputed by the Nigerian military who put the death toll at 150.
According to a reportcarried out by AI's Nigeria researcher, Daniel Eyre, about 3,700 homes in two villages, Baga and Doron Baga were destroyed by the militants. The report claims that of all the Boko Haram attacks, the one carried out in Baga last week is so far the deadliest. Continue...

Angelina Jolie condemns Boko Haram attacks

Actress and UN ambassador, Angelina Jolie has condemned the various attacks by Boko Haram in Nigeria. She condemned the activities of the terror group in a statement released yesterday Jan. 13th,
"Each new crime committed by Boko Haram exceeds the last in brutality. This is a direct consequence of the environment of total impunity in which Boko Haram operates. 9 days after BH attack killed as many as 2,000, bodies still litter streets

According to a report by CNN, 9 days after Boko Haram launched an attack on Baga community in Borno state on January 3rd, bodies of the reported 2000 residents killed still litter the area.
Chairman of Kukawa Local Government where Baga falls under, says no corpse has been retrieved from the area for burial because Baga is still not safe to go into. "It is still no‎t safe to go and pick them up for burial," he said
Sen. Maina Ma'aji Lawan representing Borno North senatorial district told CNN that Baga is still not accessible as members of the sect group are still there. "Baga is not accessible because it is still occupied by Boko Haram" he said
