We Attacked Church Because They Were Disturbing Us With Music During Juma'at Prayer - Suspect Confesses (Photo)

The police in Niger state have arrested a suspect alleged to have been a part of religious hoodlums who vandalised a church in the state.

An 18-year old suspect, Abba Usman, who allegedly participated in the recent attack by some Muslim youths on St. Philips  Catholic Church, Suleja, Niger State, has ruled out religious extremism for his gang’s action.

Rather, the suspect, who said he hailed from Manumfachi in Katsina State, stated that some female  members of the church should be blamed for playing musical instruments so loud, dancing and making noise while a Juma’at prayer was going on at the mosque opposite the church on Friday, July 15.

Multiple sources are saying there is a riot going on currently in Oshodi. Commercial buses heading to Oshodi from Apapa are said to be turning at Ladipo bustop. Some say they can hear gunshots. No one knows what the cause of the crisis is. Military men are said to have arrived in the area demanding all passersby to raise their hands as they walk through the road.
