THE
Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, on Friday, released a newly
approved academic calendar for the 2013/2014 session, in spite of the
ongoing strike by the institution’s lecturers.
According
to a statement signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr
Kayode Sutton, the new academic calendar is applicable to both fresh
and returning students.
It said that the first semester of the session would run for 14 weeks, commencing from June 23, and last till September 22.
“Students are expected to resume from recess and commence online registration and lectures, on June 23, 2014.
“Grading,
uploading of results and department/faculty board consideration of
results, and the uploading of corrections are expected to have been
concluded by the 13th week, which is by September 19.
“By September 22, results will be presented for senate approval and the semester winds up on the same day,” the statement said.
It
also indicated that the second semester will begin immediately the
first semester ends, on September 23, 2014, and will last till January
12, 2015.
According
to the statement, students have started returning to campus for
lectures in their various faculties, as directed by the management.
