The University of Lagos (UNILAG), on Wednesday, said it had appointed Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as its new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research.
The appointment was disclosed by the Institution's Deputy Registrar, Information, Toyin Adebule in Lagos. Adebule said Ogundipe of the university's Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, would succeed Prof. Babajide Alo, the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research.
He noted that the appointment was with effect from April 1, 2016. Adebule stated that the new DVC's appointment was in accordance with the provision of the institution's Act of 1967 as amended in Section 4 and 5 in the University Miscellaneous Provision Act, 1993.
Prof. Adebule added that the appointment was sequel to his election at the university's Senate meeting held on March 30. He noted that the new DVC had reviewed many scientific academic journals and external examiner to many universities, including University of Johannesburg.
