This is really surprising but here is a curve ball in the Jose Mourinho sacking post-mortem. Apparently Andriy Shevchenko played a big part in the Special One's downfall and that he could have been behind the 'betrayal' that Mourinho was referring to.
That's the exclusive story from Calcio Mercato today that will no doubt shock fans.
Shevchenko played for Chelsea during Mourinho's first spell at the club but it has been well-documented that he never wanted the striker at the club, that it was Roman Abramovich's signing.
Since retiring Shevchenko has become very chummy with Abramovich and is reportedly an adviser of sorts for the Russian billionaire when it comes to matters on the pitch. He's certainly more influence than anyone had known.
The Ukrainian has apparently been acting as a messenger for Abramovich to members of the Chelsea dressing room, giving them instructions that undermined Mourinho's authority.
Shevchenko might even be in line for a managerial position.
