An Ondo State correspondent with
Television Continental, TVC, Lagos –
Ayodeji Morakinyo — has been abducted.
Morakinyo was according to reports from
Sahara Reporters, was whisked away this
afternoon in Osogbo, Osun State after
covering a news rally in the town.
The reporter was sent to monitor the Aug. 9th gubernatorial election in Osun State. Sources who spoke with the webloid said that his abductors were armed with guns and dressed in police uniforms, and swiftly whisked him away. Colleagues said the kidnap might be politically motivated. His wife Aderoke said that the abductors have not yet made any contact. “[I] have been trying his numbers, they are not going through. Please, help me. He told me they called him from his office in Lagos to move down to Osun State for Saturday’s election,” she said.
