Lagos House of Assembly members ask Fashola to rename IDH after Adadevoh

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly moved a motion on September 24th asking the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola to rename the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, where Ebola disease patients were recently treated, after Doctor Stella Adadevoh.

The motion for her to be immortalized was moved by Hon Adefunmilayo Tejuoso and seconded by Hon Muyiwa Jimoh. The lawmakers said Dr. Adadevoh's act of stopping Sawyer from leaving the First Consultant hospital after she found out he was infected with the deadly virus, saved many lives

Peter Okoye has described his twin brother, Paul as a lazy chap.
Peter made this known while the P-Square duo were guests at the Beat 99.9FM for their 5th anniversary celebration.
He attributed Paul’s laziness to the reason why he does not do a lot of dancing in the group.
“It’s not that Paul cannot dance, he’s just lazy. The other day, we booked a 7-hour photo session and by the first hour, Paul was already tired” he expalined.
“It’s true” Paul concured.

Real Abubakar Shekau Was Killed In June 2013

Australian Stephen Davis, who is famous to Nigerians for negotiating with Boko Haram commanders over Chibok girls release, disclosed when the sect leader Abubakar Shekau was killed.

His claims follow the controversy surrounding the recent “killing” of “Shekau”. It was reported Sunday, September 21, that the commander, who has been mimicking Shekau” in recent videos was killed in Konduga September 1.
The impersonator was later identified as Bashir Mohammed, who might have picked up the war name of the real Abubakar Shekau.
The details of the operation which lead to the death of the terrorist were soon revealed.
Davis, who has made a series of claims regarding how some Nigerian politicians sponsor Boko Haram and even named them, said the real Shekau was killed  in June 2013.

Oh Lord!!! Christ Chosen Church Building Collapses, Kills One In Benin (Photo)

 At least one person have been confirmed dead in a collapsed storey building belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God located at Usama street, Uzebu quarters in Benin, capital of Edo state. The dead person was pulled out of the rubble after about ‎three hours after a rescue operation by sympathisers. Three of the nine workers allegedly hired by the church at N3000 per day‎ to demolish the building which served as offices and living quarters to officials of the church, were said to have just stepped out of the building to eat when it suddenly collapsed on those still working. As at the time of filling this report, two persons were still trapped in the debris while the three who were rescued alive were brought out with broken limbs.

Death toll now 40 in Synagogue building collapse, NEMA says

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says the death toll in the Synagogue Church building collapse in the Ikotun area of Lagos has risen to 40. "It’s now 40 dead,” NEMA southwest coordinator Ibrahim Farinloye, told AFP by text message. 124 people have so far been rescued alive from the rubble of the building said to be a guesthouse for foreign followers of the church. The building collapsed as construction work was going on to raise the 2-storey building to a five storey building.

Dad kills his 5 young children and dumped them in bin bags at side of road

A 32 year old father of five, Timothy Ray Jones (pictured left) has admitted to killing all five of his children and dumping their bodies in rubbish bags at the side of a road. He led police to the scene (pictured right) where they found bodies of all five of the children stuffed into bin bags near a logging road, 50 miles away in Alabama, Reuters reports.

Oh My God! Nigerians Spend N602.6 Billion on Airtime in 5 Months

That’s a whole lot of money!

Nigerians reportedly spent N602.6 billion on airtime for their phones between January and May 2014, according to New Telegraph.

The figure was derived by analysis of the the subscriber data released monthly by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the current industry’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) provided by telecoms operators.

With 57.2 million telephone users on its network, MTN currently has the largest subscriber base and revenue generation of all the networks in the country.

Airtel Nigeria comes in second with 25.5 million; Globacom is third with 23.4 million, and Etisalat is 4th, with 18.5 million users on its network.

The aforementioned ranking is based on data released in March.
