Nigerian troops have arrested three alleged undercover female members of Boko Haram.
The suspects, Aisha Abubakar, Hafsat Usman Bako, and Zainab Idris were apprehended on their way to Madagali, according to Sahara Reporters.
According
to reports, the women were planning to go from Madagali to the forest,
where they intended to to reunite with their accomplices.
The womens’ mission was to recruit members into the female arm of Boko Haram, and also act as spies for the terrorist group.
They lured
females - especially widows and young girls by promising to match-make
them with male suitors, who were predominantly Boko Haram members.
Hafsat is said to be the leader of the
group. Her link with Boko Haram was founded in 2012 when security agents
were searching for her husband, Usman Bako, who was identified as a
terrorist.
